    The Saturday Review, December 8, 1894 p 1.4: The Congress Killing. Dave Jones killed Jack Jones at Congress on December 3. The murdered man was about 30 years of age and formerly worked in Bisbee, where he is well known and was considered a peaceable citizen. He is an American of Welsh decent. Dave Jones, the shooter, is foreman of the mine and the victim asked for work but was refused. Hot words passed between them and Jack said: I'll fix you, if I go to Yuma for it." The men met next day and Dave asked him to take back what he had said, but Jack refused. Dave then pulled a gun and fired three shots, all of which took effect and on Wednesday morning Jack died. All the bullets entered the victim's back. He was unarmed. Dave Jones went to Prescott, gave himself up and was placed under $1000 bonds.
